Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a cylindrical neck, raised on short ring foot base and slighty concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of abundant lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind.The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years WanLi Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
