Set of Twelve Labeled John Salterini Iron "French Provincial" Dining Chairs

mid-20th century, New York, comprised of a pair of armchairs and ten side chairs, decorated with leaves and fruit, the backs with oval upholstered pads, the pierced arms with scrollwork and the balloon seats with pierced grid bottoms, on molded paw feet, labeled on the upper rear seat frames.

The chairs are structurally sound with no breaks or losses. There are scattered, small losses to the paint, weathering, and rust throughout, consistent with exposure to the elements. The back pads are in good condition, but covered in two fabrics that are very similar - some with rounded edges, some with corded edges. One of the corded edged chairs has soiling and wear to the edges.
