ENGLISH STERLING, DUTCH 0.833 SILVER, AND SILVER-PLATED / -TONED HATPIN HOLDERS / STANDS, LOT OF FOUR, comprising a weighted English sterling silver example marked "S.M.L" probably for Samuel M. Levi of Birmingham with 1909 date mark featuring a figural thistle finial with purple glass stone and a pincushion to base, a Dutch 0.833 silver example with "W.B" maker's mark and a 1931 date mark having a coat of arms finial, and two silver-plated or silver-toned examples with weighted bases having pincushions consisting of one with a purple glass stone finial and the other with a porcelain finial having transfer-printed image of a woman and man in period clothing. English sterling and Dutch 0.833 silver examples with marks, other two unmarked. Total weight of Dutch example: 0.525 ozt. Late 19th/first half 20th century. 3 3/4" to 6 1/8" HOA.

Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, slight bending, and discoloration to pincushions; English sterling holder with all-over denting around edge of base; silver-plated/toned holder with glass stone having sizable losses to metal finish; silver-plated/toned holder with porcelain finial having underside of base dented causing it to sit slightly askew.
