Description
Japanese Satsuma hand painted porcelain cup & saucer, Meiji Period. Hand painted panels of images of figures within indoor scenes wearing traditional kimono to the saucer and to the exterior of the cup. Raised gilt accents, ornate geometric patterns to the edges. Interior of the cup with painted and gilt hanging decorations to the rim, a couple in traditional kimono to the bottom of the cup. Both with Japanese maker marks and Shimazu family crest to the underside.
