Lucien Whiting Powell (American, 1846-1930) Watercolor And Gouache On Paperboard, Old Mill, Fall, Upstate, NY, H 15" W 27" | Signed lower left. Depicting a mill with waterwheel. Fall foliage. Framed under glass H 23.5", W 35.5". Verso having an old label that reads: "1878 Lucien W. Powell/ Sent to Haines Wilson/ 8162 E. Jefferson Ave, Detroit, Mich." the aforementioned address was that of the Cook Farm on the Detroit River which later became the McGraw Mansion in 1895 until it was razed to build The Detroit Towers in 1925.
