Figural Cast-Iron Inkwell of the Glutton Daniel Lambert, c. 1880
Depicting the infamous glutton consuming a chicken, his head tilting back to reveal the pewter inkwell, his hat loose on a stand beside him, original paint with some wear, on walnut base with 5 round brass legs, total height with hat 5 ½ in. - Note: Daniel Lambert (1770-1809) was the heaviest recorded person in England and became an exhibition curiosity. At the time of his death he weighed 52 stones and 11 pounds.
