Size: 11.25" x 13.25" W. Very good - excellent condition. After a painting by Thomas Hearne of the same name, The Moat in Kent, the Seat of Lord Romney, located at the Tate Museum - see Thomas Hearne (22 September 1744 – 13 April 1817) was an English landscape painter, engraver, and illustrator. Hearne's watercolors were typified by applying a wash of subtle subdued colors over a clear outline in fine brush, pen, or pencil. His techniques were studied by younger artists such as Thomas Girtin and J. M. W. Turner.
