Item Details

Description

This is a Philadelphia and Reading Armspear locomotive lantern. The rim is cast with P. & R. RY and LOCO. DEPT. Patent dates on the chimney of 1886 and 1889. Fine extended base clear globe with P & R Ry cast on the globe. Globe retainer is rusty and could be replaced but still works fine. Excellent tinware and original metal on this lantern! Correct twist off fount with accurate working Dietz Wing Lock burner, with a 1904 patent. Fount comes off easily and has a patent date on the brass clip of December 1910. Excellent specimen!
