Description
15th-16th century AD . A gold rosary finger ring, the outer surface with thirteen scallops (similar to those seen on decade rings), each having a letter or stop within and inscribed +A+G+L+AGESVS the last 'S' retrograde and with cross pattee stops; the lettering of Roman style, very reminiscent of that used on English short cross pennies from the reign of Richard I. 3.03 grams, 21 mm overall, 17.35 mm internal diameter (approximate size British N 1/2, USA 7, Europe 14.51, Japan 14) (3/4"). From an old East Anglian collection.
