A Chinese famille rose reticulated square vase
Republic period
The square vase with a reticulated outer layer that encases the body featuring flowers against fretwork-ground; each side of this layer is decorated with a carved roundel revealing a gilt character to the interior vase. Molded to the tapering neck are four boys. With six-character mark to underside. Sold with associated wooden stand.
H: 10 1/2, W: 4, D: 4 in.
H: 26.67, W: 10.16, D: 10.16 cm.
Provenance: Mrs. Inn, Honolulu, Hawaii. Inherited from her father and grandfather Henry Inn and Fong Inn. Fong Inn established the first Chinese antiques shop in Hawaii in 1910.
