Japanese Carved Five Case Lacquer Inro, probably late 19th-eary 20th century in date, is comprised of six pieces and created to resemble kamakura- bori, a carved technique that originated in 14th century Kamakura, Japan. Inspired by Chinese lacquer ware, it is typically cinnabar in color. The ojime is also crafted with kamakura-bori.
