In enamelled porcelain, hand painted.
Measurements: 3 x 33 cm (diameter of the larger part).
Porcelain dish with polychrome decoration characterised by the predominance of light and very luminous tones, especially pink and green. Different floral and vegetal compositions are combined with fruits such as pomegranates and butterflies. This is a style typical of ceramics for export to Europe, developed mainly during the second half of the 19th century.
Canton was an important centre for ceramics and porcelain in the 18th and 19th centuries, with the city of Jingdezhen being an important production site and the port of Canton the place where they were decorated with glazes and sold to foreign customers.
