Included in this lot is a Smith & Wesson Model No. 2 .32 caliber revolver. The revolver displays an octagonal barrel, spur trigger, round cylinder, and walnut grips. The revolver was produced in the 1860's with a serial number of 45005. The Model .2 was in popular demand with the outbreak of the American Civil War, as soldiers from all ranks on both sides of the conflict made private purchases of the revolvers for self-defense. The top of the barrel is marked "Smith & Wesson. Springfield, Mass", with the cylinder marked "Patented April, 3, 1855, July ~ 1809, & Dec 18, 1860". This revolver features a 6" solid rib barrel chambered in .32 caliber. The six shot cylinder displays a patina across the blue finish and some light pitting. The top of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON. SPRINGFIELD. MASS.". The revolver shows fair condition and some light pitting across the barrel and frame. The revolver weights 1lbs 6oz. Serial Number: 45005. This firearm qualifies as an Antique and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
