ENGLISH GEORGE I BRASS CANDLESTICKS, LOT OF TWO PAIR, comprising a pair with lightly stepped hexagonal bases and baluster-form stems; and an octagonal-base pair with double-knop stem and threaded construction. First quarter 18th century. 6 1/2" to 6 5/8" HOA.
Literature: Parallels Gentle/Feild - Domestic Metalwork 1640-1820, p. 135, fig. 49 and p. 136, fig. 54.

Provenance:

The important collection of H. Marshall Goodman Jr., Richmond, VA.

Condition

Very good overall condition, expected wear and scattered light denting, scattered imperfections, one octagonal-base example with frozen stem, hexagonal bases with repairs to underside at stem thread juncture.
