VIRGINIA FOLK ART PETIT POINT NEEDLEWORK LANDSCAPE PICTURE, wool, or possibly another thread, on a gauze canvas, depicting a green, hilly landscape with a distant view of a house to the center, the foreground featuring two tall trees flanking the scene, faint outline of mountains in the background. Unframed. Possibly Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Second half 19th century. 12 1/4" x 8 1/2" picture, 18" x 16" OA.

Condition
Needlework in excellent overall condition except for toning and stains, gauze margins with toning, stains, and scattered holes mostly small in size, two moderate holes to top edge at proper left corner.
