Chinese 8 "Coromandel" Lacquer Panels, the sides extended at bases to form feet, the front carved and painted with colored lacquers to form an elaborate Court scene of a Ruler receiving Ambassadors, with Court Ladies and Children around him, the panels with a row of scholarly objects across the bottom and Dragons at the top; the reverse panels carved and colored in lacquer to form a large view of flowers with exotic birds on rocks, in trees and on flowering branches. Height 84 inches (2,143 cm.) X width of each panel 16 inches (40 cm.).
