Ca. 750-600 BC.A large pottery amphora adorned with a beige slip and exquisite bichrome banded decoration on its exterior. Characterized by its bulbous shape and wide tubular neck, the amphora showcases the remarkable craftsmanship and artistic prowess of its creators during this transitional phase in ancient Cypriot pottery production. The strap handles on its sides indicates its utilitarian purpose, serving as a storage vessel for various commodities like grains, oils, or other liquids. The functional design and generous size of these amphorae were well-suited for the storage and transportation needs of the ancient Cypriot society.
