Ca. 1800 AD. Brass hilt with D-shaped guard with ribbed handle, the guard has stamped with inspection marks "P" and "D", curved single-edged blade, stamped on ricasso, A Napoleonic 1st Infantry "Briquet" saber model an XI, markings on the handle and the blade. No scabbard. Condition: Very good, blade has some dents and scratches, hilt is in VG shape, some patina overall. Size: L: 29 1/4 in., (74.3 cm); 1070g Provenance: Property of a Central London Gallery, acquired on the US art market.
