JOHN COLEMAN (American b. 1949) A BRONZE FIGURAL SCULPTURE, "Dancing for the Children," 2001, the buckskin shading to dark brown cold painted figure, cast as a young Native American girl wearing native robes and holding a long pipe, while dancing with face turned skyward and eyes closed with long billowing hair, on a shaped circular groundwork base signed and incised in the bronze, "DANCING FOR THE CHILDREN / JOHN COLEMAN / (C) 01 / 27/50," height: 17 1/2", width: 10 1/2", depth: 6 1/4"; raised on a circular black marble plinth, total height with plinth: 18 1/2".
