A MODERNIST FOLK ART SCULPTURE, "Woman Chair Petting a Cat," MID/LATE 20TH CENTURY, possibly inspired by sculptor Etienne Pirot (French b. 1952), joined wood carved as a mid-century stylized woman gazing down at a seated cat within her arms over her flat board-like body formed as a chair ending with her shoes and back rail support on square legs. Height: 55 1/4" Width: 16" Depth: 32" Provenance: Reeves Antiques, Houston, Texas.
Condition
Old exposure to wood worm, breaks and repairs, glue residue, and small losses. No apparent signature.
