AN INDONESIAN TAMPAN WOVEN AND EMBROIDERED TEXTILE, "SHIP OF SOULS," PROBABLY SUMATRA, 19TH CENTURY, red and cream-yellow silk with naturally dyed cotton, showing feather crowned figures in boats commanding lines of abstracted human figures in narrative with the adjoining scene of flaming effigy with two figures and at the end three figures; 47" x 51 1/2", linen back mount 57" x 61 1/2".
