(American, 1880-1910)
Including Juan Caicedo, slack rope walker; Koppe, juggler and hoop roller; Hayes, smoke artist; Diabolo by Wendt; Tullus Wright, heavy weight manipulator; Hercules, strong man, by Charles Eisenmann; The Bamboo Burners; Lenore, aerial artist, by Obermuller and Kern; German Rose, musical artist; and others. Albumen prints on card mounts. Each with typed label and/or handwritten inscription by circus collector William Purtill.
Largest: 9 x 5 3/4 in. (22.9 x 14.6 cm.)
Provenance: Ex-collection William N. Purtill, Westerly, Rhode Island
