Japanese Nabeshima Porcelain Plate by Imaemon XI (1873-1948) probably mid-20th century in date, represents the legacy of the Nabeshima kilns established in the 17th century by the Nabeshima clan. The plate with petal-shaped rim is decorated with paulownia leaves and flowers on a geometric lattice design. The motifs are painted in the overglaze enamels--blue,green,red and turquoise-- the distinctive palette of Nabeshima porcelain. The base bears the signature of Imaemon XI. The superb techniques preserved at Imaemon Kiln have been designated as an "Important Cultural Property" of Japan. Dimensions: D. 9 1/2 "Condition: Excellent Condition.
