A Louis XVI-style commode
Late 19th/early 20th century
The commode after a model by Jean-Francois Leleu, with gilt-bronze mounted accents and marquetry highlights, featuring a molded rectangular marble top above a frieze drawer with a pierced foliate cast panel, above two paneled long drawers quarter-veneered sans travers and gilt bronze pulls; the fluted angles of the commode are headed by scrolled acanthus cast clasps and it is raised on turned tapering legs with toupie feet

Overall good condition with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, shrinkage cracks, indentations, and separation at joints commensurate with age. Repair to front left leg. Veneer lifting to upper left edge of bottom drawer, as well, the gilt bronze trim to upper right edge is lifting. One more lifted veneer to upper drawer in a 3" x 1.5" area. Lacking key.
