Description
J. C. Brown acorn shelf clock, for Forestville, Bristol, CT circa 1830. Rosewood case, arms are warped. Original signed and painted metal dial. Original upper reverse painted glass. Replaced bottom glass. Time and strike movement, fusee mechanism absent. Height 23" Provenance: Mr. William C. Robinson Jr was master of foxhounds at the Sewickley Hunt Club and also was owner of the horse farms: "Far Away Farm" Sewickley PA and "Lanes End" in Versailles Kentucky. His wife Mary Laughlin Robinson was also an accomplished equestrian.
