Description
Antique Ironstone Blue Transferware Platter made by Thomas Goodfellow of Tunstall England.It is in the company's "Allegheny" Pattern, which depicts a Great and Classic Victorian Scene of two women and a man and a dog in a park setting with urns and trees overlooking a lake with boats and a castle and mountains in the background.It has a border with similar smaller scenes.Thomas Goodfellow operated between 1829 and 1854 so this piece is at least 158 years old and probably older. This platter is large, 16 inches by 12 inches and displays wonderfully, It has eight sides and has a cartouche backstamp that reads T Goodfellow and Allegheny and Ironstone. Pieces in this pattern are extremely tough to come by, especially so for platters. 16"x12"x1.75". Weight 4 lbs 9 oz.
