Description
Prudent Mallard (American 1809-1879), Victorian era New Orleans market Rococo Revival walnut and mahogany poster bed, third quarter 19th century, having a serpentine half tester and headboard with foliate carving centering on a cartouche, wooden side rails, and low footboard with acanthus carving, rising on turned feet, marked "From/P. Mallard/Manufacturer/67 Royal St./No.".

Condition
Some loss of carved detail including to gadrooning, crest and urns not present on tester, pleated panel is torn and dirty, some wear to finish, panel under headboard is not present, decorative upper brackets lacking from side rails, frame is structurally sound.
