A pair of Chinese hexagonal porcelain dishes
Guangxu Period (1874-1908) or later
Marked to the underside in red enamel bearing a reign mark for Guangxu Period (1874-1908)
Two unusually shaped ceramic dishes, each with a painted scene, one likely depicting of one of the Taoist Eight Immortals, Liu Hai, riding the three-legged "wealth frog" and the other depicting the Immortal, Zhang Guo and his magical white donkey, each vessel with two bats depicted on the reverse side in red underglaze; each with a foliate carved wood stand, 4 pieces
Each with stand: 5.5" H x 8" W x 5" D
Condition
Each overall good condition with shelf wear, scattered minor scuffs, scratches, and inherent firing flaws commensurate with age. Issues and repairs include, but are not limited to: one dish with repaired chip to the pointed corner on the back side and pinpoint oxidation to the glaze throughout each dish. Lastly, there is some rubbed wear to the finish on each wood stand. Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request.
