Italic, Iron Age 6th cent. B.C. Bronze.
L. 4 7/8 in; 12.4 cm
Boat-shaped bow with three knobs in the centre framed by two constrictions. Long, slender, tapering catch whose profiled tip ends in a knob. Closely related to the Grottazzolina type; this kind of fibula is mainly found on the Adriatic side of the Apennines.
Needle broken into two pieces, reattached; one knob slightly worn; otherwise intact.
Formerly priv. coll. A. L., Switzerland (BL), collecting period ca. 1960s-2000.
