Description
Wax art un bubble glass frame of Carolyn White MCMXLIX (1949) measuring approx 7" diameter in good condition as shown, signed along bottom right edge. Mundy pioneered the art of the wax sculpture in the early 20th century studying under Fernando A. Carter, John Twachtman, Miss Louise Stowell and, Amy Sacker. She went on to serve as a trustee of the Syracuse Museum of Art for 30 years. Henry D. Sharpe is listed on her patrons list beside John D. Rockefeller, Harry Guggenheim, and Elizabeth B. Custer.
