Description
Technically known as the Western Union Automatic Self-Winding Ticker, this was used throughout the 1920s and into the 1940s. It initially provided stock quotes, and later news and sporting event info. The black-painted cast iron base retains a partial original decal reading, "Western Union Telegraph Co." The interior contains an elaborate electromagnetic device stamped "23-A." It is missing the original glass dome. CONDITION: Oxidation to all components and paint loss to the cast iron base. Condition: (Fair). Dimensions: 8 - 1/2" Dia x 6 - 1/2" H.
