Native American, Southwestern United States, Zuni Pueblo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A wearable necklace featuring a hand carved turquoise eagle pendant with a silver chain. The eagle is hand carved with an eye hook for suspension, and strung on oval chain links with a ring clasp. Fetish animals are believed to have inherent powers or qualities that may aid the owner. Size of pendant: 2" L x 1.2" W (5.1 cm x 3 cm); chain: 20.75" L x 1.2" W (52.7 cm x 3 cm); silver quality: 98%; weight: 18.2 grams
