Description

The White House letter head with typed letter of thanks from Harry S. Truman to the "Honorable Basil O'Connor, chairman of the American Red Cross, Washington 13, DC." Signed in what is now a sepia toned ink, "Harry Truman" and dated, "November 30, 1945." Letter discusses the gift of an Ecuadorian Red Cross hat, which will "come in handy next summer when we have some hot weather." Sold together with a photograph of President Truman. Both photo and letter are framed, double matted, and under glass. Measurements: 14.5" X 19" X 0.75" Weight 3.3 lbs. Condition: Appears good with very mild toning. Not examined out of frame. Small areas of wear to frame.
