Description
Cal. 8mm Nambu. S# 18292. Bbl. 4 3/4". Blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Matching numbers on trigger, bolt, cocking piece & mag. Both grip panels, firing pin & firing pin extension are unnumbered. Right side of slide has Nagoya & Nambu symbols denoting mfg. by the Nambu rifle factory. Right rear of frame has "11.3" Showa date denoting mfg. in March 1936. Groove Asian hardwood grips. MAGS: 1-8 rd. matching numbered to gun. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: cleaning rod & leather holster. Inside flap of holster marked "LT. W.J. MILLER/923RD F.A. Bn/ NARA JAPAN---1945". The 923rd Field Artillery were part of the 98th Infantry Division who served on occupation duty in Japan from 1945 until 1946. CONDITION: left grip panel has an imprint from safety, grips otherwise show scattered dings & handling wear. Strawed parts show fading & oxidation staining. Balance of metal retains 50% original blue w/ overall fading to gray & light oxidation. Good plus bore w/ a couple light pits & some frosting. (23-2254/MJC). CURIO. $700-1000.
