Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima or Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE; Colombia, Carchi-Narino Highlands, Narino culture, ca. 1250 to 1500 CE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery artifacts from ancient Mexico and Colombia. First is a West Mexican pottery jar with 9 rounded nodules protruding from the walls. Next is a set of 2 Carchi-Narino pottery vessels including a broad bowl and a squat jar with sloped walls. Size of largest (Narino bowl): 5.2" L x 5.25" W x 1.5" H (13.2 cm x 13.3 cm x 3.8 cm)

Provenance: private Constance McCormick Fearing estate, Montecito, California, USA, acquired before 2004

Condition
Both Narino vessels with chips and abrasions, with small perforation to bottom of jar; West Mexican jar is intact. All with light earthen deposits and fading to pigment. Nice preservation to overall forms.
