Description
"The Lost World" by Michael Crichton, published by Knopf, NY, 1995. First Edition, First Printing with '1995' on the title page, and "First Trade Edition" on the copyright page. [Traditionally, Knopf marked "First Edition" only the copies of the first printing].
Dust jacket with un-clipped price on the front flap [a little wear]; hard boards, original black cloth spine, silvery lettering on the spine; 6.1/2" x 9.1/2"; illustrated endpapers, 393 pages + "Acknowledgment" page, and colophon; very good condition.
"What a fantastic book! As much as I loved Jurassic Park, I found this one to be even better. It took a little longer to set up than the first book did, but after that, it was a non-stop, run-for-your-life page-turner! Ian, who we thought was dead after the first book, miraculously survived and heads for Site B on Isla Sorna. A colleague is thought to be in danger and Ian, along with a couple colleagues, a couple stowaways, and a few intruders, head out to try to save him. This was so far from the movie adaptation, much better in my opinion. There's a very small cast of characters which is what I prefer. I never understand how the movie can be so far from what the book was and that's why I always like to read the book afterward. I know I'll be rewarded that way. If you like a scary adventure, you certainly want to read this one..." [a private review]
