Description

An antique 19th Century painted white metal match striker. A figural Black Americana folk art style work depicting a cheerful seated well dressed Black American male figure wearing a top hat, with tree stump, and cigar, striking a match. Flanked by dual yellow painted match holder baskets, and a smaller discard basket behind. No apparent marks.

Dimensions: 8 X 9 X 5 in.

Condition: Fair antique condition, having moderate paint loss, surface wear, and damage to some of the basket trims. Please bid accordingly. Estate fresh to the market.
