Description
Outstanding bronze sculpture after Frederic Remington's Mountain Pass. Remington depicted the dangers of frontier life with a trapper and his horse descending precariously, yet with confidence, a rugged mountain path. The details of this sculpture are excellent and the brown and green patinas on the horse, rider and riffle and the reins contrast splendidly with the rugged surfaces. Mounted on a curved marble base that follows the shape of the mountain. Carved signature on the lower right: Copyright by Frederic Remington. A plaque on the lower back reads: Dedicated to Theodore Roosevelt.1905.
