Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A sophisticated necklace bearing 4 interior strands, every inch covered in polychrome-glazed faience beads. The petite size of the seed-form beads enables hundreds to be strung on this composition, making for an interesting and ancient accessory for any outfit. Size (necklace): 24.5" L (62.2 cm); (largest bead): 0.2" W (0.5 cm)

Provenance: private Danvers, Massachusetts, USA collection, acquired by descent; ex-USA collection, acquired before 2000

Condition
Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Faience beads are ancient; stringing and metal findings are modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some beads, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to glaze pigment throughout.
