Description
Southeast Asia, Cambodia, ca. mid-20th century CE. A lovely brass bust of Buddha depicted in the tradition of the ancient Khmer Empire lavishly adorned in an intricate, tiered headdress, a thick, lotus flower chest piece, arm bands, and earring that dangle from his extended lobes.The tranquil figure presents downcast eyes beneath a fine brow line, a broad nose, and full lips. Size: 6" W x 8.7" H (15.2 cm x 22.1 cm); 10.5" H (26.7 cm) on included custom stand.

Fragment of a larger piece. Chips, nicks, abrasions, and a few perforations as shown. Patinated in modern times with added encrustations. Liberal remaining detail. Metal pole is removable from marble stand.
