A painted folk art wooden carving of a hunter with two dogs. The hunter with crossed arms holding his rifle with one dog at his side holding a bird. Both mounted on a green painted base. A second dog stands separate from the man also holding a bird in its mouth. Found in Eastern Ontario. Signed in pencil by the artist on the bottom of the base Tom McLaughlin #I as well as the initials TM carved into the underside of the base. As found condition. The upper part of the hunter's rifle has been glued on to the body. The detached dog is missing part of his left rear leg. Circa 1965. Measuring, 8 1/2" height x 5 1/2" length of base, detached dog 2" height x 3 1/2" length. The Shaun & Joan Markey Collection.
