This ca. 1867 colored engraving by John C. McRae is after a painting by Henry Breuckner. Titled "First in Peace", the image depicts George Washington's arrival to The Battery, New York, in 1789. There is a Vixseboxse Art Galleries, Inc. tag en verso. The handcolored engraving is housed in a gilt frame, with a two-layered mat. There is warping evident as well as discoloration due to age. The frame has a few scuffs. The sight area measures 25 1/2" x 38", and the frame measures 35 1/2" x 37 1/2". Third-party shipping or personal pickup is required.
