Description
1794. Early Knoxville Tennessee document. Partially printed document completed in manuscript and signed. Most notably, the document is signed by Charles McClung who was an American pioneer best known for drawing up the original plat of Knoxville, Tennessee. The only Knoxville printing recorded by ESTC prior to 1794 is the Knoxville Gazette. This document also predates Knoxville becoming the first capital of Tennessee. The document is an order to bring Benjamin Blackburn before the county court.
