Description
Maynwaring, Arthur. REMARKS UPON THE PRESENT NEGOTIATIONS OF PEACE BEGUN BETWEEN BRITAIN AND FRANCE. London, 1711. 8" x 5". [4], 35, [1] pp., including half-title. Untrimmed copy, bound in modern paper boards. ************ Remarking upon one of several peace negotiations which would eventually help to bring the War of Spanish Succession to an end at the Peace of Utrecht. Two editions of this work were printed in 1711, though it appears no precedence is given to either as being the first. Scarce in trade. In its 1927 Catalogue of Rare Americana #671, Henry Stevens Company described this book as a "secretly printed" pamphlet in which the writer studies what he sees as the problem of the growing power and influence of France in Europe and the New World. ESTC T46891.
