ANTIQUE BACCARAT PRIMROSE LAMPWORK AND MILLEFIORI ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT, six-petal primrose with red petals and white loops, central star honeycomb cane, five green leaves protruding from the backside, a short stem supports two additional leaves and a red bud, with the bud being created with aventurine green glass, it is the only articles in the piece to show aventurine, all encircled by an exterior garland of white tubes with a multi-colored interior and green and red cogs, rayed to the underside. The Compagnie des Verreries et Cristalleries de Baccarat. Circa 1850. 2" H, 2 7/8" D.

Catalogue Note: This is the only paperweight that I have seen that has one piece of the decoration being aventurine, and the remainder of the decoration lacking aventurine. Aventurine is a rare attribute to decorations in paperweights.
