Norman & Ernest Spittle / Art Fittings Ltd lidded coal bin, England circa 1903. The Spittle brothers were the firm behind Art Fittings where Gustav Stickley purchased several items while visiting London, which became the foundation of the designs he put into production in his own shop. Original patina and executed in hammered copper with iron handles, with original steel liner. It came directly from a collection in Birmingham England and is pictured in their catalog, one of the most expensive objects they produced. Measures 18.5” tall to handle top and the lid is 13” wide.
