Ball Watch Co., Cleveland, Ohio, a Ball - Waltham "Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen & Engineers" with chain and BLFE fob, 16 size, 19 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism, concentric ring damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement and cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold center wheel, gold jewel settings, and whiplash micrometric regulator in a yellow gold filled, screw back and bezel open face case, the back engraved "B of L F& E" within a circle, arabic numeral white enamel dial with three color Brotherhood designation below 12:00 and blued steel spade hands, serial #B222649, together with a gold filled, curb link single Albert chain and enameled, cross form BLFE fob
Condition
CASE: Small dent, band; Numerous dings; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Gold filled with minor brassing; Crown with wear. DIAL: Small loss at setting lever, partially concealed by bezel, otherwise very good. HANDS: A few small spots of discoloration, minor oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine, short scratches on plate; Barrel bridge with minor gouge at edge near serial number; Winding wheels with a few specks of oxide; Regulator assembly with a few specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Needs service. Chain with brassing; Fob with very minor losses to enamel., circa 1907
