Carved and Painted Model of the Paddlewheel Steamer Ada, America, late 19th century. The wood model with carved and wire-sculpted paddlewheels at sides, both inscribed 'ADA.' in gold letters, the two upper decks with mirror-inlaid windows and removable top, and hull visible to rudder before joining original wooden base with plaster top sculpted and painted to resemble churned water, (imperfections), including base, 60cm wide, 17cm deep, 17cm high (24 1/2in wide, 7 1/4in deep, 7 7/8in high).
