American Ansonia Spelter and Iron Open Escapement Figural Mantle Clock, c. 1880, the urn surmounted drum clock, time and strike, with an enamel chapter ring, flanked by figures of classical women representing Music and Literature, on a stepped iron base with gilt relief paw feet, H.- 20 in., W.- 22 in., D.- 8 in.
Condition
Structurally sound. Minor losses to finial and other metal elements. Patination and pitting to metal with soiling throughout. Scattered chips, abrasions and losses to base finish. Lacking pendulum. Residue on glass from an adhesive sticker.
