Description
1908 1ed Dorothy and the Wizard in OZ Frank Baum Childrens Fantasy Neill Illustrated
“Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz,” by L. Frank Baum is the fourth book in the “Land of Oz” series. Published in 1908, a year after the previous Oz book, it is darker and more intense than other entries in the series. The story reunites Dorothy and the Wizard from “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” through a series of threatening magical lands to find their way back to Oz. In this book, Dorothy appears more helpless, and Oz is portrayed as a less vibrant place.
Published by the Reilly and Britton Co. in 1908, this first edition, first printing is bound in green cloth and includes 16 full-page watercolor illustrations by John R. Neill that bring the magical world and its inhabitants to life.
